Sentinus Trip for P6/7

5th Jun 2024
P6/7 enjoyed an interactive STEM workshop today, hosted by Sentinus. It was a great opportunity to build new problem-solving skills, test our coding abilities and gain new knowledge about science and technology.

Firstly, the class enjoyed a science show called 'The Exploration of Space'. Hosted by scientific researchers, the class learned what it takes to be an astronaut. Our favourite part was definitely the fantastic demonstrations and experiments, teaching us about gravity, combustion and energy.

After this, we had a robotics class and competition. They had to programme a robot to race against other pupils. This tested accuracy and speed, as well as teamwork. We were very proud to be the winning school in our group as two of our fantastic P6 girls won the overall final race in our section.

Finally, the class enjoyed an interactive lesson on microbit coding. Each pair designed a pattern or a message that was displayed on the lights on each microbit. We are looking forward to completing some microbit lessons in class this week after gaining lots of new resources from this lesson.

All the boys and girls represented our school fantastically, with great listening and manners. We are looking forward to coming back next year to enter some more of the competitions. Well done everyone!
