School Closure for School Development Days

Dear Parent/Guardian,


After consultation between staff and the Board of Governors we would like to advise you of the following...

  • In the interests of the safety and wellbeing of our pupils, staff and families, in the midst of the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis, we have taken the decision to close the schools to pupils on Thursday 19th March and Friday 20th March.
  • Staff will be using these two days to continue to prepare work for children and update the Home Learning page on the website in the event of an extended school closure in the near future, as suggested by our First and Deputy First Ministers.
  • Pupils must not attend the school on these days.

Home Packs have been created and have been sent home today with your child/children. These contain aspects of Numeracy and Literacy which are to be completed over the next few weeks. We will also be adding a number of websites that parents can use for educational value.

The Home Learning page on the website can be accessed on the Parent Area of the school website. Once you click on the Home Learning Page, you will be asked to submit a password. This password is ************ (Please see the letter you have been sent home or contact the school email address). Once this password has been submitted you will gain access to worksheets and activities which your child can download and complete. Please do not access this page until after the Easter Holidays. Staff in Tobermore Primary School will try to keep these activities updated as best as we can on a weekly basis in the event of a long term closure.

We have also set up a Facebook page for Tobermore Primary School to keep you updated. Along with this social media platform and the school website, we hope that we can provide you with much needed information. As always if you are unsure of anything, these two sites should provide you with accurate and up to date information.

As you are aware, this is a very fluid situation and the Board of Governors and staff of Tobermore Primary School will be keeping this under constant review. I understand that this is a worrying situation for us all and I really appreciate your full support and cooperation at this time.
