PSNI Visit
Today we welcomed Constables Neil and Tracy, who spoke to the children about staying safe online in recognition of Internet Safety Day, which takes place on Tuesday 10th February.
During the session, the children learned how to stay SMART online and what each letter of the acronym stands for. They were reminded about the importance of protecting their personal information and keeping themselves safe when using the internet.
The officers also discussed the legal age requirements for using social media platforms (as shown in the attached photo) and explained why these rules are in place.
Cyberbullying was another key topic. The children were taught what cyberbullying looks like, what they should avoid doing, and the steps they can take if they ever experience or witness it.
Constable Neil also highlighted the potential risks associated with online gaming and talked through the age ratings that help guide children toward safe and appropriate games.
A huge thank you to Neil and Tracy for delivering such an informative and valuable session.
