Over the past 6 weeks, the P6/P7 class have been taking part in the Engineers Ireland - STEPS programme.
The aim of the project was to engage pupils in engineering solutions to improve their local community.
During the project we undertook 6 vital steps within our teams to complete the challenge: we investigated our school grounds, brainstormed ideas, debated, invented a prototype, evaluated and presented to the class.
The children learnt engineering language and skills alongside practicing working in teams, taking turns and sharing out tasks.
A very worthwhile project from beginning to end!
The completed engineer booklets will now be sent to Engineering Ireland in Dublin for judging!
