P6/7 fun with Instructional Writing
28th Feb 2026
We have had a lot of fun recently in P6/7 with Instructional Writing.
Our first task was to learn the rules of a new card game and write them for our peers as instructional language. We then tried out the game using our own instructions.
Then, the class were asked to write step by step instructions to make a banana sandwich. Afterwards, the teacher and assistants selected a completed worksheet at random and asked the pupil to tell them their instructions to make the sandwich.
Of course, we had to follow their instructions very strictly- often without using a knife, peeling the banana or using a plate!
Only one pupil volunteered to eat their sandwich afterwards! Well done Caiden!
Lots of fun, lots of learning, lots of memories made!
