Beach Safety Assembly
On Friday, our pupils took part in an informative and engaging Beach Safety Assembly. The children learned about the RNLI's Float to Live campaign, which teaches an important life-saving message: if you find yourself in difficulty in the water, float on your back, stay calm, and call for help when you can.
The assembly also helped pupils understand the different beach flags and what they mean, including where it is safe to swim and how to recognise potential hazards. This knowledge will help our children make safe choices when visiting beaches and enjoying water activities.
The learning linked closely with Tobermore Primary School's values. By listening carefully and applying what they learned, pupils demonstrated responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others. They also showed respect for the natural environment and an appreciation for the importance of caring for one another.
We reflected on the significance of water in the Bible, particularly the words from Isaiah 43:2: "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you." This verse reminds us that God is always with us, guiding and protecting us through life's challenges. Just as we learn practical ways to stay safe around water, we can also trust in God's presence and care wherever we go.
The assembly provided valuable knowledge that will help keep our children safe while encouraging them to enjoy the outdoors responsibly. We think the children deserve a nice trip to the beach over the Summer, followed by a Morelli’s ice-cream for their super listening!
