A Special Visitor in P1&P2

Mr Glendinning, a current parent of children in P1 and P2, very kindly accepted an invitation to come and talk to the boys and girls about his job as a joiner. Our topic is ‘Houses and Homes’ and the children have enjoyed learning all about houses, so it was great to hear about the work a joiner does. Mr Glendinning showed the children how to hammer nails and told them all about keeping safe on a construction site. He was very impressed with their skills. He then showed them how to build bird boxes, which are now hanging proudly in our school garden. Huge thanks to Mr Glendinning for coming into school to talk to the children and for bringing them the fantastic high vis jackets, which were donated from JP Corry Builders.
