🌿➕ Outdoor Numeracy Trail ➗🌞
We were delighted to host an outdoor Numeracy Trail on our school grounds today. Grandparents 👵👴, parents 👨👩👧👦 and carers were invited to come along and accompany the children as they worked through a range of fun, engaging numeracy activities. There was definitely a competitive air 🏁 throughout the day, alongside plenty of laughter 😄 and enjoyment!
We hope this experience gave families an insight into just how fun numeracy can be 🎲 and how using the outdoors 🌳 can support the development of important skills and mathematical concepts in a meaningful, active way.
It was lovely to see so many grandparents and parents taking time to support the children and take part 💙. We truly appreciate your presence, your enthusiasm and the encouragement shown by our wider school community.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you 💐 to everyone who sent in cakes, buns and treats – they were absolutely delicious! 🍰🧁
A huge thank you to Gavin Hawthorne from Bertie’s Bakery 🥐 for the beautiful scones (many people were asking who made them!).
Thank you also to Ballinscreen Credit Union 🤝 for their generous grant donation, which helped fund the necessary items for this event.
Our heartfelt thanks go to all our teaching and non-teaching staff 👏:
Mrs Palmer, Mrs Hawthorne, Miss Mitchell, Miss Henderson, Mrs Weir, Mrs McCulloch, Mr Pierce, Miss Reid, Miss Pickering, Miss McArthur, Mrs Booth, Miss Thom, Mrs Palmer, Mrs Robb, Mrs Patterson, Miss F Barfoot and Miss E Barfoot.
From baking and serving, setting up the hall, washing cups, overseeing numeracy activities indoors and outdoors, to supporting children throughout the day – the list of contributions is endless. It truly was a whole-school team effort 🤍.
A special thank you ⭐ to Miss Henderson and the Student Council for the overall planning of the event and the tremendous amount of work and preparation that went on behind the scenes.
We would also like to express our appreciation to the parents who kindly helped with serving tea ☕:
Mrs A Shiels, Mrs R Glendinning (Wellbeing Governor) and Mrs V Campbell – everyone commented on the beautiful spread! 🥰
📸 A big thank you as well to our two photographers who came along to capture the event so beautifully – we really appreciate you helping us preserve such special memories of the day. 🌟
As part of the day, we were raising funds for Help the Aged ❤️, and we are delighted to announce that £333.70 was raised. Thank you all for your generosity!
Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a successful and enjoyable event for our children and community 🎉📚. It very much echoes our school motto, 'Together We Learn, Together We Achieve, Together We Celebrate'.
