🌐 Internet Safety Day 2026 (P1-P4) Smart Technology, Safe Choices! 🌐
Today our pupils took part in activities exploring this year’s Internet Safety Day theme: “Smart Technology, Safe Choices.”
We began by discussing what the internet is, who owns it, and why it is important to make good choices when we are online. The children shared lots of great examples of the things they enjoy doing on the internet — from playing games and researching topics, to completing homework tasks and staying in touch with friends and family.
Most importantly, we talked about how to stay safe online and what to do if something does not feel right. The key message the children took away was this: if you ever feel unsure or uncomfortable about something you see or hear online, always speak to a trusted adult.
The children also learned about Articles 17 and 19 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which explain how they should be protected from unreliable information and from any information that could cause them harm.
A big well done to all the boys and girls for engaging so thoughtfully in today’s discussions! 💛🌟
